Alec’s ‘Travels’ To…v3

We are so excited to announce further dates for these wonderful ‘journeys’ where we explore regions from far & wide. Join us as we bring some of the most celebrated food & wine regions of the world to Alec’s for you to enjoy. 

In true Alec’s style, each evening consists of an exclusive four-course menu centered around our freshest seafood and the finest seasonal produce from British shores. Each course is then carefully paired with a wine sourced from one of our partner wineries from around the world.

7th of April, South of Italy:  We would be bringing some of the best Italian seafood dishes matched with a fantastic spread of Ruggeri Prosecco from the stunning rolling hills of Valdobbiadene. Limited availability so call us or book your table below.

Following on from the Italian landscapes, on 27th April we will be bringing some of the amazing dishes from the beautiful coast of Japan, in partnership with the famous house Cloudy Bay. Then the last but by no means least, on the 25th of May we will of course be heading to the French Provence with Chateau Leoube – menu & details to be released soon

For our last spring travel series, we are off to the beautiful Provence region of France. This renowned part of France has such a variety of culinary influences, strong Mediterranean traditions meet exciting new taste sensations..

‘L’appetit vient en mangeant’ – ‘Appetite comes with eating’.

Each course will be paired with a glass of Chateau Léoube, this winery is one of the most sustainable in Europe. The land is spread across the Mediterranean coastline and swept by a costal wind; this gives the soil a unique marine twist.

You join us as we embark on our next ‘journey’ we are off to Japan to experience some of the most exquisite dishes, maintaining authentic fresh flavours whilst delivering on that modern edge. This cuisine oozes bold eye-catching colours and light mouth-watering taste sensations. From the zings of the citrus notes and the freshest seafood to the richness of umami packed ingredients. The Japanese cuisine really has all foodie areas covered.

Each course is carefully paired with a glass from the famous wine house of Cloudy Bay. One of Cloudy Bay’s Vineyard Marlborough has a diverse terrain, parcels closer to the Wairau River have stony, sandy and free-draining soils ideal for the iconic Sauvignon Blanc. Further south of the river in the Southern Valleys, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards love the heavy clay-based soils.

We are kick starting our Food & Wine series in Italy, one of the greatest food cuisines craved by all. The simplicity of the ingredients used to concoct some of the most elegant but also heart-warming dishes. From the freshest juiciest San Marzano Tomatoes to the extensive range of succulent seafood, the Italians really have it all.

In the words of Federico Fellini ‘’The key to everything is the quality of the ingredients, that is what it comes down to and that is what Italian cuisine is all about’’ 

Each course is carefully paired with Ruggeri Prosecco. House of Ruggeri produces one of the finest Prosecco, from the grapes grown in the splendid hills of Valdobbiadene. This area enjoys a unique blend of climate, soil, and exposure. A distinctive trait is so strong and significant that it has been adopted as a symbol of the winery itself.
